Red Gully Wines

Garth, Ken, Rae and Anna Walter established their vineyard in 1997, with the primary purpose of growing red grapes for sale to other producers. They planted shiraz and cabernet sauvignon, with small blocks of pinot noir, merlot, chardonnay and semillon. That part of each year's grape production which is kept for the Red Gully label is contract-made, although with direct involvement of Garth and Ken. A nice, and not common, touch is that customers may buy grapes to make their own wine, or have wines tailor-made for them by Red Gully. -JAMES HALLIDAY
