Della Fay Wines

This is the venture of the Kelly family, headed by district veteran Michael Kelly. He gained his degree in wine science from CSU before working at Seville Estate and Mount Mary in the Yarra Valley and Domaine Louis Chapuis in Burgundy, then returning to WA and working for Leeuwin Estate. Michael became the long-term winemaker at Fermoy Estate, while he and his family laid the groundwork for their own brand, buying prime viticultural land in Caves Road, Yallingup, in '99. The focus is on estate-grown cabernet sauvignon, merlot and chardonnay, as well as nebbiolo and vermentino. They also make shiraz from Geographe. -JAMES HALLIDAY
