Green Valley Vineyard is owned and managed by Graeme Seed and Dr Helen Thomas. Substantial investment in trellis to improve vine management in recent years continues to raise fruit quality in this 30-year-old boutique vineyard. Graeme oversees the vineyard and business, with winemaking and management also undertaken by Ian Bell, formerly of Moss Wood. Chardonnay production is in the hands of Mark Messenger of Juniper Estate. The vineyard is planted to shiraz, chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon and riesling. Exports to Singapore, Japan and China.
Established in 1979 the vineyard has undergone significant infrastructure development in recent years, particularly in the vineyard. Lower yeilds have been adopted to enhance fruit quality and attention to detail in the winery has paid off. The vineyard produces, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Working with Ian Bell, from Glenmore and formerly Moss Wood, quality fruit is further transformed with the use of the very best oak. A combination of traditional wine making method and modern wine science in the winery has overseen a significant further improvement in quality. In recent years this small producer has developed export markets to the USA, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore where recognition for quality has seen the wines being applauded by overseas wine writers. Despite it's low profile in Australia the wines have been recognised internationally and domestically.
