Miles from Nowhere

Miles from Nowhere is one of the two wineries owned by Franklin and Heather Tate. Franklin returned to Margaret River in 2007 after working with his parents establishing Evans & Tate from 1987 to 2005. The Miles from Nowhere name comes from the journey Franklin’s ancestors made over 100 years ago from Eastern Europe to Australia: upon their arrival, they felt they had travelled ‘miles from nowhere’. The plantings include petit verdot, chardonnay, shiraz, sauvignon blanc, semillon, viognier, cabernet sauvignon and merlot, spread over two vineyards planted over 20 years ago. Exports to the UK, the US, Canada, Asia and NZ.
