The Fontys Pool vineyards are part of the original farm owned by pioneer settler Archie Fontanini, who was granted land by the government in 1907. In the early 1920s a large dam was created to provide water for the extensive vegetable gardens that were part of the farming activities. The dam became known as Fontys Pool, and to this day remains a famous local landmark and recreational facility. The first grapes were planted in 1989, and the vineyard is one of the regions largest, supplying grapes to a number of leading WA wineries. An increasing amount of the production is used for Fontys Pool. Exports to all major markets.
