CellarHand’s acclaimed wines go online

Following the launch of CellarHand’s online store for its premium portfolio, the team has curated a special six-pack of international wines with an exclusive offer for Halliday members.

Wine lovers now have access to an impressive range of quality drops from across Australia and around the world, thanks to a new online store from CellarHand. It comes after more than 20 years of the Melbourne-based importer and distributor selling its wines solely to retailers and venues.

Founder and director Patrick Walsh says the move into online sales had been a long time coming, having recognised the demand for offering their diverse range direct to people at home. “Our first obligation is to our retail and hospitality partners, and we don’t want to change that, but we know that if you go to a restaurant and enjoy a CellarHand wine, the next thing you want to do is buy a bottle and enjoy it at home.”

The CellarHand range offers incredible options, with almost 30 Australian producers – think Yeringberg, Stefano Lubiana, Balnaves and Frankland Estate – and other flagship producers from Austria, Germany, Italy and France, as well as the US, New Zealand, England and beyond. They also sell the glassware range designed by UK wine authority Jancis Robinson.

The online store can be browsed by category, country or style, including search terms such as fresh, juicy, rich and even “out of the box”, plus there are also mixed, themed cases. These include Light and Slurpable Reds, which combines French and Austrian wines, the Australian Sparkling Showcase pack, Germany for Beginners and The Lo-Fi Pack, among others.

Now available is a special pack of six international wines with an exclusive offer for Halliday members. It comprises the NV Champagne Jacquesson Cuvée No.742, which has a creamy, nutty palate and a long finish, and the Louis Michel Chablis, which chardonnay fans will love for its fresh and flinty notes. The Dr Loosen Bernkasteler Lay Riesling Kabinett beautifully represents this iconic German producer – one of the first to come on board with CellarHand – and the Pittnauer Pitti Rosé offers a pure and fresh example of the style. A German take on pinot noir is also included with the medium-bodied Bernhard Huber Malterdinger Pinot Noir, while the G.D. Vajra Langhe Rosso is a silky, savoury and moreish expression of the wines of Piemonte.
