Our Review
The estate-owned vineyard is planted on the Summer Hill sheep grazing and cropping property owned by the Hughes family, headed by third-generation Ken and Toddy, fourth-generation Barney and Angela, and their children, fifth-generation Georgia and Brandon all resident. In 1997 Ken followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, who began contract grapegrowing in 1869, those vines long since lost in the mists of time. The estate vines are lead by 1.6ha of shiraz, with smaller amounts of tempranillo, viognier and chardonnay. -JAMES HALLIDAY
