Gomersal Wines

South Australia | Barossa Valley

Our Review

The 1887 establishment date has a degree of poetic licence. In 1887 Friedrich W Fromm planted the Wonganella Vineyards, following that with a winery on the edge of the Gomersal Creek in '91; it remained in operation for 90 years, finally closing in 1983. In 2000 a group of friends ‘with strong credentials in both the making and consumption ends of the wine industry' bought the winery and re-established the vineyard, planting 17ha of shiraz, 2.2ha of mourvedre and 1ha of grenache. Exports to Switzerland, Iceland, Korea, Singapore, China and NZ.

About

Nestled in the heart of the iconic Barossa Valley, renowned throughout the world for its rich, full-bodied Shiraz, Gomersal Wines embraces the district’s time-honoured and traditional approach to winemaking.
