Richmond Grove draws its grapes from diverse sources. The Barossa Valley and Watervale Rieslings, a legacy of master winemaker John Vickery, represent excellent value for money year in, year out. The Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon is not as incongruous as it may seem, for John Vickery was transferred to Coonawarra for a couple of years in the latter stages of his career at Leo Buring, until sanity prevailed and he returned to the Barossa Valley to continue making Riesling, thereafter moving to Richmond Grove prior to his retirement in 2009.
