O'Leary Walker Wines

South Australia | Clare Valley

James' Review

David O'Leary and Nick Walker together had more than 30 years' experience as winemakers working for some of the biggest Australian wine groups when they took the plunge in 2001 and backed themselves to establish their own winery and brand. Initially the principal focus was on the Clare Valley, with 10ha of riesling, shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and semillon the main plantings; thereafter attention swung to the Adelaide Hills, where they now have 25ha of chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir, shiraz, sauvignon blanc and merlot. Exports to the UK, Ireland, UAE and Asia.

O'Leary Walker Wines was established in 2000 by winemakers David O'Leary and Nick Walker. With over twenty five years experience and established reputations making premium wine with the big companies, these two long time friends decided to take control of their own destiny and craft small batches of wine from some of the best vineyard sites in South Australia. The O'Leary Walker Wines winery and cellar door are based at Leasingham in the Clare Valley, South Australia. The wines are regionally distinct with fruit sourced from premium grape growing districts in South Australia thus drawing on varieties that excel in these quite different viticultural climates. O'Leary Walker Wines continues to build an enviable reputation for producing premium, award winning, regional wines at affordable prices.
