Reschke Wines

South Australia | Coonawarra

Our Review

The Reschke family have been landowners in Coonawarra for over 100 years, with a large holding that is part terra rossa, part woodland. Cabernet sauvignon (with 120ha) takes the lion's share of the plantings, with merlot, shiraz and petit verdot making up the balance. In '20, Reschke was purchased by Coonawarra-based CW Wines. -JAMES HALLIDAY

Specialities

The Reschke vineyards in the North East of the Coonwarra district are planted to friable Terra Rossa clay loams on a layer of ancient limestone. Plantings consist of some 400 acres mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, with further plantings of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Shiraz, these vines are managed for intensity of flavour and structure in Reschke's range of Coonawarra classics.
