Brockenchack Wines

South Australia | Eden Valley

Our Review

Trevor (and wife Marilyn) Harch have long been involved in liquor distribution in Qld, owning one of Australia's leading independent liquor wholesalers. Over the years, Trevor became a regular visitor to the Barossa/Eden Valley, and in 1999 purchased the Tanunda Cellars Wine Store. In 2007,Trevor and Marilyn purchased a vineyard in the Eden Valley and retained Shawn Kalleske as winemaker. The vineyard has 8ha of shiraz, 2ha each of riesling and cabernet sauvignon, and 1.3ha each of pinot noir, pinot gris and chardonnay. The majority of wines released are labelled in honour of one or other member of the Harch family. Brockenchack comes from the first names of the four grandchildren: Bronte, Mackenzie, Charli and Jack. A new cellar door is planned for 2018. Exports to Germany, Japan, China and NZ. -JAMES HALLIDAY
