Harvey Family Generations

South Australia | McLaren Vale

Our Review

The Harvey family foray into wine started with John Harvey's arrival on the Superb in South Australia in 1839, planting vines on the banks of the Little Para River near the town of Salisbury, which he established. This brand recognises the contribution the Harvey family has made to the Australian wine community, now in its sixth generation, with Kate Harvey holding a senior position at Wine Australia, Tom Harvey a director at Chalk Hill and Alpha Crucis Wines in McLaren Vale, and Jock Harvey running his own viticultural contracting business, also in McLaren Vale. The seventh generation, represented by six school-age children, will surely extend this heritage further. -JAMES HALLIDAY
