Curlewis Winery

Curlewis was established by self-taught winemaker Rainer Breit and Wendy Oliver, who extended the original pinot noir vineyard (now 35yo) with more pinot noir (Pommard clone) and small amounts of chardonnay and arneis. They retired in ’11, selling the business to Stefano Marasco and Leesa Freyer. Stefano continues to make the wines using Old World techniques including wild yeast, hot fermentation, post-ferment maceration, prolonged lees contact, neither fining nor filtering the wine. Rainer and Wendy remain part of the Curlewis team as consultants and great friends. Exports to Canada, Sweden, Maldives, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. -JAMES HALLIDAY
