Kilgour Wines

Victoria | Geelong

Our Review

While this business has roots in the Bellarine Peninsula dating back to 1989, its reappearance in 2017 is a different venture altogether. Anne Timms planted the original vineyard in ’89, opening Kilgour Estate. In '10 she sold the 3.2ha title with the Kilgour Estate winery, the winery label and a separate 2ha of vines to David and Lyndsay Sharp who renamed the business Jack Rabbit. Anne Timms retained 8ha of vines surrounding the Jack Rabbit property and for the next 5 years sold the grapes to other wineries. In ’17 she retained part of the crop, with Alister Timms (chief winemaker at Shadowfax) making the Kilgour Wines under contract at Shadowfax. -JAMES HALLIDAY
