In October 2017 founders Phillip Moraghan and Jenifer Kolkka parted ways. Not without anguish, Phillip relinquished his share of the business, leaving Jenifer with sole ownership of Curly Flat. Matt Harrop was headhunted for the position of senior winemaker, and will continue his role at Silent Way, the Macedon vineyard he owns with wife Tamara Grischy. Exports to the UK, Japan and Hong Kong.
Curly Flat, in the Macedon Ranges, is a privately owned, estate based, grape grower and wine maker. It was founded in 1989 after an 18 month search for a region and site with the potential to grow Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with the style, character and finesse similar to wines of Burgundy.
