He subsequently decided to discontinue studying for that degree, instead gaining practical and philosophical education in traditional methods in his father's winery (Horvat). He began developing his own labels, and eventually moved to set up his own small winery in Daylesford. Situated in the middle of town, his venture extends to a boutique wine store focusing on the wines of Western Victoria, a wine bar and music venue. The premises are named ?W.I.N.E. is a 4 letter word', his operating company called Liberated Winemakers.
