Box Grove Vineyard

Victoria | Nagambie Lakes | Taungurung Country in the Kulin Nation.

Our Review

This is the venture of the Gough family, with industry veteran (and daughter) Sarah Gough managing the vineyard, winemaking and marketing. Having originally started as growers with 10ha each of shiraz and cabernet sauvignon under contract to Brown Brothers, Sarah decided to pivot, and the majority share of the plantings were grafted to Italian, French and Portuguese varieties. A considered approach to farming, with the ever-changing climate at the apex of all decisions. While shiraz and prosecco (glera) are the main varieties, there are smaller plantings of pinot gris, primitivo, vermentino, roussanne, sousão, grenache, nebbiolo, negroamaro, mourvèdre and viognier. The result? Textural and flavoursome wines best paired with hearty fare. -HALLIDAY TEAM
