Whistle and Hope Wines

Matt Kilby worked his first vintage in 2005 at Dominion Wines in the Strathbogie Ranges, followed by stints at Tahbilk and then 10 years at Mitchelton, completing his winemaking degree at CSU along the way and travelling overseas to work vintage in the Mosel. Matt is now winemaker at Michelini Wines in the Alpine Valleys, running Whistle & Hope alongside. The first releases have been rieslings, and during ’22 he will bottle a ’21 Heathcote shiraz and hopes to pursue a Yarra Valley cabernet sauvignon, too. He says 'I want to target varieties and regions that interest me. I believe that Victoria has the capacity to successfully grow any variety when matched with the right site.' -JENI PORT
