Domaine Naturaliste

Western Australia | Margaret River

James' Review

Bruce Dukes' career dates back over 25 years, its foundations built around a degree in agronomy from the University of WA, followed by a master's degree in viticulture and agronomy from the University of California, Davis, thence to a four-year stint at Francis Ford Coppola's iconic Niebaum-Coppola winery in the Napa Valley. Back in WA he worked with a consultancy and contract winemaking business in Margaret River in 2000. The winery was set up to handle small and large amounts of fruit, but it was not until '12 that he made his own wine under the Domaine Naturaliste label. The quality of all the wines he makes is excellent. Exports to the UK, the US, Canada and China.

After twenty years of applying his passion and expertise to the countless vintages for local producers, renowned winemaker Bruce Dukes has launched Domaine Naturaliste – his own range of wines, named for the southwest region where he has honed his craft. The Domaine Naturaliste label creates space for Dukes to refine his skill in balancing all the variables essential to producing great wine. Here, Dukes is demonstrating his mastery of the classic Margaret River varietals to fully express their individual and collective characteristics. He is applying decades of locally and internationally gained knowledge about terroir, fruit selection, palate and aroma to produce balanced, complex and delicious wine.
