Trinchini Estate Wines

Marcus Trinchini was born in December 1975, after his father came from Italy to Australia when he was 21 years old. He had always made wine, like his father and his grandfather before him. From a childhood interest in everything about wine, in 2006 Marcus started working with wines and wineries. He moved to Victoria with his wife and in ’12 started working with a small winery on the surf coast. This allowed him to begin the search for the perfect location for his first vineyard, which he found in Heathcote. He also found the old Pettavel winery in Geelong. He was underway making his own wine by ’14, sourcing fruit from Heathcote, Geelong and the Yarra Valley. No machinery is used at any stage and while this is no doubt true of the crushing and pressing of the grapes, one assumes pumps are used to move the wine around the winery. Marcus certainly learnt his craft well. The wines submitted so far have all been of good quality. Marcus says, ‘I continue to enjoy my craft, strive to master it, making a better piece of art each time so that one day I craft a Mona Lisa of wine’. Exports to China. -JAMES HALLIDAY
